mPowering helps the ultra poor turn themselves into productive citizens through mobile technology and applications. Today, the ultra poor spend 80% of their income on food, but still fail to reach their daily-recommended calorie intake leading to a poverty cycle that is inter-generational and difficult to address via traditional economic development programs. The core concept of mPowering is to create mobile apps that incentivize the ultra poor to attend school and get proper health care and reward them in the short-term with food and other basic goods. In parallel, we enable donors to support our mission with a simple and transparent mobile app that tracks and reports the immediate impact of a donor's charitable contribution.
