I have spent 30 years of my working life as a professional photographer and am also a tutor in photography in Melbourne Australia. As a tutor, we teach about the various rules that apply. I have to say that M.P. O'Brien has proven to be a master of the rules we teach. His stream is testament to the fact that, those rules when applied correctly, will indeed give your imagery, a finesse if you like, that without them, is hard to achieve. Of course there are always exceptions to some rules and I note that on the rare occasions, when he has indeed chosen to break the rules, he has been creative enough to make it work. I have been astounded by the quality of his composition and his wonderful understanding of lighting. All of his images appear to be well thought out, and he does indeed have a magnificent eye for creating a well constructed photograph. His love of photography shines through his entire stream. I happy put this gentleman's stream forward as a prime example of how to take the most wonderful photographs. They are all simply outstanding.
