I am a retired professor of international relations and political science from Bucknell University. I enjoy hiking, skiing, tennis, swimming, snowstorms, mountains, traveling, socializing, family, my grandchildren, gardening, wildlife, art, sports, teaching, reading and photography. I am an explorer and adventurer, and have traveled to 110 countries, hopefully with many more to come.
My aunt and uncle were well known photographers who traveled the world, and they kindled my interest in photography and global wandering..
I am not interested in the technical aspect of photography. I use simple cameras, in the digital period, a Canon powershot or my Samsung phone. I take photographs to describe the cultural, natural, aesthetic and personal aspects of my travels. I try to find beautiful scenery and architecture, and interesting people and cultures to represent in my photos. As a result, I include in my public photos, some pictures that may not be technically perfect, but represent experiences meaningful to me.
I enjoy looking at the photos of other people to learn about their experiences and perspectives, and I hope that people will enjoy and learn something about our world from observing my photos.
