I paint mainly from imagination, inspired by what's around me - I find myself observing colours all the time. This way I attempt to free myself from representational art, allowing experimentation with a variety of techniques. Much of my art is inspired by the movement of urban landscapes, socio-cultural awareness, and interaction and experiences with new places.
This approach of moving beyond merely representing or attempting to replicate the world around me is my approach to art. A process informing the way I paint, inspiring me to work towards “non objective” painting, where colour and forms are promoted as means of expression in their own right.
I am a young artist inspired by the world around us all, be it the seemingly mundane or the spectacular…there is inspiration to be found in the strangest places. This is why I am always hoping to catch another piece…and so some of my work starts life with a photo. Being of Arab origin naturally provides many inspirations and adds to the western influence I can draw on, as well as travels to West Africa and beyond.
