Just got one of them thar MySpace accounts - www.myspace.com/gilphotography
I consider myself an amateur photographer*
I enjoy travel photography, street photography (whenever I'm in NYC), zoo pics, and the occassional abstract shot and portrait shoot. So I suppose I'm a bit of a generalist.
So my equipment is now an IR converted 300D and 5D with my 5 lenses - 50 1.4, 85 1.8, 24-105 4L IS, 70-200 2.8L IS and Sigma 12-24 4.5-5.6 EX.
* I've done a few weddings, but just to finance more equipment, not for livelyhood. Most of my photography income is from stock photo sales (enough to pay for my equipment).
If you're interested in any of my photos for commercial work, many are up for inexpensive download at www.istockphoto.com/joeygil
If you're interested in selling some of your photos for stock (like me), check out ShutterStock at

(follow this link, I get a referral, so thanks!)
I get most of my microstock income from ShutterStock, and love how I can send in news (editorial) images (though DreamsTime just started taking editorials too). I also recommend www.istockphoto.com/joeygil as they target a different market.
Two other sites I recommend are DreamsTime at (referral link again) and BigStockphoto
Nice thing about BigStock and DreamsTime is there aren't any application process. Once you sign up, you can start uploading right away. Fotolia is the same way, but doesn't have as high a return in my experience - but I still find worthwhile, since they target a European audience, which I wouldn't otherwise have.
I tried 123Royalty Free, Image Vortex and found the sales to be dismal or non-existent for me.
I highly recommend adding keywords, description/caption and titles in the metadata/IPTC while you're using Photoshop, Lightroom or Aperture. That way, when you upload the same image to multiple sites, you don't have to rekeyword it everytime, as it'll import it from the image data.
