Cast offs Scarves by Morgan Wills by morganwills

From her earliest childhood memories, Morgan desired to make things. She had a shoebox (more a treasure chest) which she would fill with countless items she had found, to be used in creating one craft project or another. She was then, and is now, a self confessed Bower Bird.

Morgan started her boutique design label in 2006; its focus, crafting unique eco friendly products of the highest quality, whilst embodying her passion and love of colour.

By age 10, Morgan had decided she wanted to be a fashion designer. Her education and vocational histories have ranged from Furniture Designer/Maker, Interior Designer, and Event Management and most recently Morgan returned to her recycling roots, by hunting down jumpers and other treasures to turn into completely new creations.

Her Cast offs range is made from 100% recycled finely woven woollen jumpers, whilst her Play with me range utilises everything from vintage fabrics, designer off cuts and her personal favourite, linen and cotton tea towels and tablecloths from yesteryear.

She loves the delighted response when someone realises that her products are made from reclaimed materials; as such each one is completely one off and being crafted from fabrics sourced in her travels, they are all individual and very distinctive.

Since 1992 Morgan’s work has been showcased through major art and craft exhibitions; most recently as a finalist in Expressions 2008 The Wool Quilt Prize at the National Wool Museum.

Morgan says “Recycling really is the way of the future. We live in such a consumer society - there is only so much ‘new’ stuff we can produce - by re-using what we already have we are in some small way helping the environment and adding more colour and light at the same time.”

Morgan’s work is available at various retail outlets around Melbourne and interstate and also online at www.morganwills.com.au
