I'm a relative newbie to photography. To date, my "successes" are still mostly accidental. Purchased my first DSLR and opened a Flickr account at about the same time summer of 2009. I mostly shoot stills with a Canon EOS 450D and recently acquired a 550D for HD video but have hardly touched the damn thing. Until about July 2010, most of the photos in this account were captured with the 18-55mm kit lens. Lately, I've taken to posting very low-resolution photos captured with an old Nokia E71 cameraphone.

If it weren't for the eventual need to capture moving images (hence the acquisition of the Canon 550D) I would have happily continued to compose on the Canon kit lens -- still do most of the time -- and not known any better. A modest gear budget inspired me to explore old MF prime lenses including non-Canon and M42 on the digital EOS.

So here are the "new" old lenses I mostly forget to use. They all require mount adapters.

- Canon FD MF 50mm f/1.8

- Canon FD MF 28mm f/2.8

- Canon FD MF 75-200mm f/4.5 (zoom)

- Pentax Super-Takumar M42 MF 150mm f/4

- Mamiya/Sekor M42 MF 55mm f/1.8

- Pentax Vivitar M42 MF 135mm f/2.8

I'd love to have a

- Pentacon M42 MF 29mm f/2.8

- or something wider

I'm terrible at site maintenance!
