This collection takes a look at Civil War monuments, Neoclassical sculpture, African American history, and life in late nineteenth and early twentieth century Indianapolis. These documents aim to provide a historical context to a cancelled artwork proposal by contemporary artist Fred Wilson, entitled "E Pluribus Unum."
