Photography and I.

Having been a photographer since about 1996 I have gone through lots of phases and periods of wanting to achieve different things. I am not sure I will ever grow up as a photographer, but I have fun, and that's what matters.

I use a blend of film based cameras, primarily Yashica T5, Canon EOS-3 with screw mount Takumar lenses, a Rolleiflex, a 6x9 pinhole camera, and a host of Hasselblad 500-series cameras and lenses. I've experimented a lot with films and developers over the years, but am now mostly shooting Ilford HP5+, and I process mostly in Adox FX-39. I find the combination gives me good tonality and sharpness, and I can learn more about how to manipulate the exposure, as well as development time and agitation, to achieve different results.

I used to print in very often in a traditional darkroom, but sadly I no longer have space for it, or time for that matter. But I hope to some day get back into it. To me that's the only way the process feels properly complete. But I still have fun processing film, scanning it, and working with it in Creative Suite.

Thanks for visiting and having a look! Happy shooting!
