My daughter, Olivia, "SuchAGroke" introduced me to Flickr when she was home Christmas 2005, and I love the photos & community. I browsed & enjoyed commenting for a few months before finally plucking up the courage to post pictures of my own. My husband "Imagistpoet" posts his photographs, and my other daughter "Helenaphoto" posts occasionally, too.
We live north east of Philadelphia in Bucks County (though both our daughters live far away for the time being) but moved to the US from the UK on January 1, 1988. All four of us now have joint British/American nationality.
In the UK we lived in Cheshire (where our younger daughter was born), before that in Glasgow (birthplace of older daughter), prior to that Edinburgh (where I went to the Universtity and met my husband), and before that I grew up in the London suburbs.
My mother's father (whom, sadly, I never met) was a very enthuiastic and skilled photographer. He died during the second world war, and due to the war, almost all his photographs were lost too. My mother told me how he loved new technology, the coming of cinema in his lifetime, all the latest photographic techniques. I am sure that he, and my mother, would have loved Flickr and been so pleased that Olivia, our older daughter now loves photography so much too, continuing a photographic tradition in our family. (though as I update this in 2010, Olivia is too busy with her advanced studies and wedding plans to take many photos.)Helena has a wonderful eye too, and I hope will post more when she has the time.

monicaflick has always been one of the most positive flickr friends that I have ever met. Her photography reflects her cheerful comments and numerous favorites. I personally love viewing her photostream on a daily basis and I expect that you also will love her pictures as much as I do.
