Emily always sits on a little teeter-totter in my brain between absolute liking and...well, whatever people feel when confronted by someone so intelligent (hint: a little jealousy). This 'monial will come out even more strangely when I say she reminds me of myself and perhaps that's why I never know what to think of her. But somewhere in my psyche is a little flowing undercurrent of the concept of Emily being great.

I drew the image of a jaybird in magic marker on the small of her back, not knowing who she was. And, ever since, I will follow women on the street and wonder if she is not the one, or if it had washed off.
