Just picked up a D40 and I am currently experimenting with remote flash a la strobist

I seem to favour either very close or very far shots, architecture interests me but i have yet to get out and about enough to capture the dark alleys of norwich.

i am enjoying the increase in control that my d40 gives me over my old compacts and whilst automatic focusing is fantastic i do like to play with manual focus as i can get exactly what i want rather than almost.

has come to the conclusion that whilst playing with manual focus is fun, auto focus is ace, although pretty useless for pointing at the sky at night as it just throws an epi and dies.
