Over the past few years, I've become very fascinated with how mobile Internet services are adopted in emerging markets where the number of mobile subscribers far outnumber the number of PC Internet users. Conventional wisdom suggests that people start using Internet services and consume content on a PC and eventually want to extend their use of those services to a mobile phone. My experience in markets like Indonesia, India, China and Thailand indicate that consumers in this part of the world are coming online via the mobile first.
