I've been taking photos ever since I got my first mobile phone with a camera. Capturing the moment, whether it be an amazing sunset or just the smile on a friends face, has been something I've taken serious and friends and acquaintances had always told me I've got the eye for it.
I never finished secondary school and I studied post 16 to catch back up to my peers. Several setbacks hit me due to my diagnosis with Asperger Syndrome but I didn't let them beat me. I tried and tested a lot of hobbies and interests throughout my teenage years and it was photography which I came out of enjoying the most.
When I see a great sight I want to photograph it for the memories and so I can share it with others. I started sending the odd shot off to my local newspaper and they used them in their weekly local photos feature. Then a wonderful lady who liked my photos in the paper donated a camera to me as she'd bought a newer model and wanted her old camera to go to someone who'd use it well. The compassion meant a lot to me and I enrolled on night course in photography.
