I've been interested in photography since I was given an Argus C3 as a high school graduation gift. Eventually I bought a Nikon and have been using Nikon cameras ever since. Twenty years ago I put a darkroom in my basement, and dabbled around with Adam's Zone system using 35mm format cameras. I would load my own film (Ilford) and shoot only six exposures per roll, spot meter as I could, and develope the film according to my own calculations. I liked the intense involvement that his system required. I did not spend much time with photography, however, due to other obligations. With the advent of digital, being retired, and fewer other obligations, I can spend more time with it. I like just about all aspects of photography, with the exception of weddings. To me, doing a wedding is forced labor to support a loved hobby. I currently shoot with a Nikon D300s ,a D800, a Nikkor 16-85 mm, a Nikkor 24-70 mm, a Tokina 12-24mm, the new Tamron 70-300mm, the Sigma 120-400mm, and the Sigma 105mm macro, and I'm satisfied with their performance.
I like seeing what other photographers are doing, and enjoy seeing good work. If I comment on a photo, or select it as a favorite, it's because I consider it to be an exceptional photo. I select "favorites" so that I can review them later when I have more time, and I review exif data so as to determine how the photo was taken.
If you have stopped by an viewed my photos, I appreciate your having done so. Thank you.
