I have an interest in the particulars of production and consumption.

 

My photos

 

As an amateur photographer, I upload images to Flickr in random fashion. I have no binding themes in mind. The photos are typecast to everyday life. They are primarily a gesture to where I live and when I was / am :)

   

My favourites

 

My Flickr favourites initially began as file repository for random images that pertain to a project I started in a separate web domain. The project involved the localisation of a workshop amongst the high-tech belt of web media hotspots in the Maryland / Virginia region of the United States. The region appealed as a local history – the development from a late second millennium 'settler society' into the modern archetype of inter-state and inter-continental media communication.

 

Accordingly, the favourites gallery now provides a contextual connect, a ready access and reference to the Virginia / Maryland region.

 

To this end, I found that each individual photograph provides a point of departure from which I can navigate at random and gain greater sense of place. Unsurprisingly, I was drawn to the beautiful landscape, and in particular to the rivers that spill into the Cheaspeake Bay.

 

And so the region became a permanent fixture to my Flickr favorites.
