MIX NYC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating spaces for Queer filmmakers, artists, revelers, connoisseurs, and enthusiasts. Born from the need for a home for Queer experimental films, we are committed to providing opportunities for filmmakers to showcase their work to a community that deeply values it.

At MIX NYC, we believe that to be Queer is to be experimental—embracing bold, untested ideas. We serve as an incubator for creativity, fostering collaboration and innovation while providing platforms for showcasing daring new Queer work.

Founded nearly 40 years ago, MIX NYC continually reflects on the needs of our community and explores fresh approaches to meet them. We promote, produce, and preserve experimental media that speaks to the lives, politics, and experiences of LGBTQIA2S+ and other queer-identified individuals. Our work challenges mainstream notions of gender and sexuality while redefining traditional categories of form and content.
