Mister Id is a writer, photographer and musician. Since 2001 he has edited Queensland Pride newspaper, a queer newspaper/magazine based in Brisbane, Australia. He also writes on music and movies for magazines, websites, CD and DVD releases. He spent the 80s and 90s playing piano and organ in several garage punk and dark psychedelic Brisbane bands: DEMENTIA 13, REPTILE HOUSE, MONA LISA OVERDRIVE, KRANK & SPANK. To this day, Misteriddles enjoys reuiniting with former bandmates to murder the classics. Visitors to his 2006 STRANGE VINTAGE FICTIONS solo show wrote of his photography: "poetry of light", "Carnival photography at its best", "dark and sinister", "jazz in pictures", "enchanting and extraordinary", "particularly intense, uncommon", "stark OTHERness", "[a] combination of formalism ("beauty," really) with disturbing content", "intruiging characters, hidden stories and surprising angles ... Voodoo, alchemy and rhythm" and "the photographer is moving through this HUMAN HELL unnoticed, recording these things before they are swept away."

I love his imagination and originality. Sometimes I think his photographs have so much elegance and style and then other times they scare me. I suppose that is what I like the most - not knowing what is coming next. A very talented man is our Mr Riddles.
