Welcome to our flickr gallery!
¡Hola!
PLEASE NOTE: I use the "fave"-asterix primarily as a bookmark, not to show that I like your photo (which, of course, doesn't exclude that I like it). So I can find back your photo journal easier at a later time.
At the same time, I use the "Public, Friends, Family" as folders to sort the stuff from friends, grouped according to their activity and such. Therefore, TO VIEW MY STUFF (you won´t see much as a "Follower"), PLEASE SEND ME A "FRIENDS" APPLICATION to gain access to those photos which I´d like to share.
First I´d like to mention that I keep this photo gallery as a way to document my marvellous existence on planet Earth.
Flickr has become an obsession and an indispensible part of my life. I feel connected with so many friends all over the world.
A big THANK YOU to all flickr staff for enabling the sharing of our photos and thoughts. Believe it or not: this "benefit" or "perk" coming along with Flickr has been extended through the last 10 years or so by joining the main social media: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter. The latter is similar to "Thinking aloud in a café, while the former are similar to a mall (especially Facebook), where one can meet friends and share stories and photos with them. It all depends on HOW WE USE THESE EXCELLENT MEDIA. Issues and disgraces like mobbing and hate speech have never occurred in the area where we walk through the Facebook Mall; on the contrary: many a precious new band of friendship has been woven across all over the globe which I'd never want to miss.
Not only, at least to me, is flickr a community of photographers, but was also an important source of support in a more private area a while ago. I´d like to thank all friends for being so open with their opinions on my journal which I kept at the time as part of my photo stream and which is now locked up in my private vault. You´ve certainly influenced my ways. All is well by now.
First thing for me to do after cranking up my machine: connecting to flickr, going straight to the "my contacts" page and viewing all those superb new uploads of yours. When I faved a photo it means that my favourite photos (taken by you) stirred something in me so that they indirectly tell you a lot about me. So please browse "my favourite photos from other flickr members" to indirectly learn more about me, my taste, and how I feel.
So many very talented photographers are sharing their excellent work on flickr. Their sometimes unconventional, yet well-crafted style has become a model style for my own photography. I've learned so much from them. I often view their photos very intensively, figuring out what makes them so outstanding.
You might browse my "favourites" section for some examples.
My Chinese (little, but grown-up by today) friends used to call me Yé ye (spoken: yeah yeah), which means Grandpa in their language - hence my aka ;-)
Here´s some legal stuff: PLEASE REFRAIN FROM USING MY PHOTOS FOR YOUR WORK OR COMMERCIALLY. Please ask mister.beep@yahoo.com for permission to use my photos commercially.
ANY LINKS ON MY FLICKR SITE WHICH TAKE YOU TO OTHER SITES ARE BEYOND THE BORDERS OF MY CONTROL AND I CANNOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CONTENTS OF THE LINKED PAGES.
Should you discover your photo or a photo of yourself in my gallery and should you not want it to be published here, please get in touch with me at mister.beep@yahoo.com and your photo will be removed immediately.
That said, let´s enjoy now the passion which we have in common: PAINTING WITH LIGHT.
Here´s the door leading you to my gallery. A good starting point for getting a first impression of my photographic style.
To simplify navigation, I´ve organized and put my photos into various folders: There are a few main folders named "collections", to enter one of them, click on the blue link "gallery" a few lines above. Each of these collections contains several subfolders named "sets" which hold photos featuring various subjects.
The continuous and in most cases daily upload of photos is called a "photostream", it´s not as clearly structured as the collections and sets.
I have a lot more personal photos (and stories to tell) in my "friends" section.
Here I´m also occasionally keeping a diary. You are welcome to browse this area, but before getting enroled I need to know you a bit better, and you need to add me as your contact, for otherwise I´d be a fool to reveal my life to a person who doesn´t even bother bookmarking my stream! There are one or two exceptions, however, to this rule.
I´ll be very pleased should you comment my photos! I´ll prefer reading your emotional evaluations of my photos and the situations which led to taking them rather than any technical assessments.
Updates: (latest at bottom)
· I re-arranged the mosaics of my collections.
· Since July 2011 my photography has focused on the darker sides of life, illuminated by a few very bright flashes of happiness. I don´t know how long this phase of my photography is going to last. It´s there, denying it would be belying my photography. Photography, the great helper, the great medium to let go. I drew lots of inspiration from this period, which led to the creation of an album named "Philosophy, the great comforter".
· I´m missing the dof - management facility of a full-frame camera, that´s why I miss my Nikkormat EL (film) most. I use it from time to time. I cannot forget about film.
· picnik´s going to shut down in April. I´ll be missing its features, it has been so easy to employ. I hope flickr will come up with a proper replacement.
·aviary is in fact the follow-up service, picnik´s no longer available.
· I´ve edited my profile slightly. I´ve also uploaded some photos from my mobile phone. I like the inferior quality and the vintage feel. Sometimes they are like aquarelle paintings.
· please note that it´s my policy for you to have access to my friends sections you need to add me as your contact. I keep checking this from time to time. If I cannot find my name among your contacts, I´ll switch you (back) to contacts.
· I´ve just added "(back from the cows)" to my screen name, indication that whenever I come back from work on the dairies I first check new flickr uploads. The affix will be accompanying my name for a while. I might change it from time to time acc to actual situations.
· I´ve slightly changed my screen name after many years of membership, due to the fact that Maxi´s become part of the family recently. (It used to be "Mister Beep!")
· Now that I´m having a second dog, I´ve adapted my screen name once more.
· Glad to have found some new flickr contacts, and friends. I hope to re-establish contact with a special person, wg...
· Adapted the screen-name once more.
Posting some flickr photos on facebook, too. Although I´m aware that at facebook the copyright is transferred to them automatically.
· Flabbergasted when I switched on flickr after some time of absence. Well, to tell the truth, no, I cannot say that I like this totally new flickr layout. The old one was like, solid, reliable, true. The new one is just a whirlpool of seemingly unorganized photos. No, I´m not that old-fashioned, but the old flickr was much better. (:-(
· seems like we´re getting used to this new flickr thing. The overall appearance is a bit fresher than before.
We´ll stay with flickr.
· We´ve now fully accepted the new version of our beloved flickr. Even found the collections: they´re hidden behind the three dots on the main page (clicking them will open a menu showing how our account is organized (:-)
· We have adapted our screen name: Mr Beep! & his rascals (previously "Mr Beep! and the rascals).
· reversed the last change of screen name back to "...and The Rascals".
· Adjusting status of friends and followers: most longtime followers of our stream are now "friends". We´ve just browsed our follower´s list and the balance is far pro-flickr, even though flickr has given us "residents" a lot to swallow during the last months b/o their new appearance. Yet that won´t outweigh the value of having become acquainted with YOU, dear friends, and sharers of our photos.
· As of Sept 2014, our new status is Retired Cowboy (who now feeds the birds in a pet shop - adapted from the TV series Dittsche where a guy called Turtle sits still on a stool most of the time saying nothing, just paying attention to Dittsche´s wisdom.
Turtle´s CV informs us he´s operating the circular saw in a diy store).
· Nov 2014: So we´ve got used to the new version of flickr, at last; also because there are no more loading problems and the design is fresh and without glitches.
· We´re happy with flickr´s built-in uploader!
· Dec 2014: a few adjustments in the "Describe Yourself" section due to the progress of life, and time....
· Jan 2015: a few more adjustments in the "describe yourself" section.
· "Camera Roll (Beta)" is a good feature of flickr´s organization scheme. I´ve just used it to browse a great deal of my stream, deleting posts which don´t make sense any more after the years. I also deleted several "gaining self-esteem" selfies from the past, which I feel no longer fit the photo gallery of a grown-up person.
Furthermore I´ve moved many posts which contain descriptions of personal states to the private vault. Times are a changing, you know, to the better in my case - I´m lucky to say (;-)
· May 2015: flickr is trampling on everyone´s nerves again: changes changes changes (of the way photos are displayed on the screen). But then: studying the new layout over time showed that not everything´s all that bad. Most important, for me, is access to my own and other´s photos without hiccups, waiting loops, and error messages. Keep it going flickr.
· June 2015: we´re contemplating switching almost all our content to "Friends" status; so, not much is going to change for you
· As of recently (Aug 2015), I´ve developed a liking for the lomographic effects of my low-res mobile phone.
· Although I´ve been much less often recently, because I´m on twitter, facebook and instagramm, flickr is still my main photographic "refuge". It´s fun to watch how the lives of flickr friends have changed over the years, or have stayed the same.
· March 2017: uploading more old pictures (slides, prints, early digitals) to form flickr as main photo data base (photos in the cloud).
· Sept 2017: after the death of my built-in(to a mobile phone) cam (very low res, very low quality, lovely aquarel images like water coloured paintings) I now use my Fujifilm Finepix more often. It produces remarkable pictures for a simple point&shoot which cost some 70 €.
· Oct 2017: although I don´t edit most of my photos, I´ve purchased AFFINITY, a superb photo editing software.
· Nov 2017: Albums are arranged as follows (more or less): on top: general subjects; followed by events in chronological order; at bottom: private section. Also thinking of scanning all old slides which are of importance (a lot).
· Our albums have been regrouped: general motives are at the start (on top) followed by events according when they happened. Private (invisible) and very old albums come last.
Also we´re making good use of the "collections" which help to put all the clattered albums into some order.
· Our three style cameras want to go out, in style. They haven´t been out since I´ve purchased them in early Jan 2018.
· My three new Digital Darlings which I purchased in January want to be taken outdoors. ;-)
· Our Digital Darlings: Canon Darling (for the pocket, point&shoot), Fujifilm Darling, Nikon Darling.
Also we use lesser-quality cameras (which we still call Darlings) from time to time, because we like their special effects.
· Flickr is our main photo data base, all our other devices, even those on our various local hard drives, relate to this flickr data base.
· Jan 2019: you won´t notice that we are in the process of reorganizing our photos according to "date taken" (up to now my photo of birth appeared somewhere in 2008, haha). So, as I said, nothing of importance for you. Internal management measure rather to refind photos better.
· Feb 2019: Thoroughly reorganized our photo database. Flickr is now our primary data base (with another back-up on a local portable disk). So all images are in one place, and can be distributed to our various devices on demand.
· Mar 2019: Back to using the primitive built-in camera of our LG mobile phone (made in 2001 or so); we love the Lomo effect. Also, from time to time we´ll introduce an editing feature which goes back to analog film, it´s called "crossover processing" or "Xpro" with enhanced colours and also a colour shift. The effect arises when a colour slide film is developed in a chemical process for colour negative film (and vice versa).
· Oct 2019: We´ve just switched our whole flickr content to "private"; reason: flickr is our data-base, where we store ALL our photos. Thus, by default, all photos are private, but don´t worry: we´ll be publishing and sharing new photos with our friends as from now.
· Dec 2019: We added some more albums (EVA 2012...2019) to document the outdoor activities and experiences of our pack; EVAs (Extra Vehicular Activities) make out a lot of our (photographic) activities. Also we make good use of "camera roll" to manage our data base.
· Jan 2020: As of now we´ll be using "Favourites" as a tool to bookmark both interesting photos of others but also to make it easier to find them back. In other words, a fave from us doesn´t necessarily mean that we like the photo (although, in most cases, we actually WILL like, why else should we bookmark it), we just want to get back at a later time. - Ok, nothing will change for you.
· Feb 2020: We´re in the process of re-arranging folders: there will only be one folder with contents for public and friends. So we can separate photos which we want to share from photos destined for our data base in the cloud (the cloud being flickr, in this case).
· Jul 2020: Some cleaning up, rinsing away contents of private folders. Using Flickr as a universal photo data base and journal all the more.
· Jul 2020: To and fro, to and fro. Fro!! (Certain Folders and their pictures deleted).
📍 Nov 2020: important extension of the private section, dedicated to a most-loved hobby and passion. Flickr has become a true "allrounder" over the years. Maybe it's about collecting stamps, whiskey, wine, "or so". Or so. Right. My photo database.
· Mar 2021: Adapting the organization of our flickr database. We find the collections/albums/photo path very useful; the collection section should be made more prominent by flickr. It serves as an entry level to the data base. We would advocate a further section further down the album level, so there can be more themes in an album.
· May 2021: Adjusted the privacy status (not that we'd have to hide "unsafe articles", it´s just because we use flickr as our main and only photo database, and you wouldn´t want to browse all the outtakes and photos which wouldn't mean anything to you.
· Dec 2021: Falling in love, again, with photography. And I love my cameras: the Nikon full frame SLR, the Fujifilm viewfinder, the Canon for the pocket. And the super tele zoom 400mm Lumix bridge (an oldtimer already, like myself).
• Feb 2023: In hindsight, in perspective, over the years, decades almost, Flickr has given us a lot of personal meaning and identity, a lot!
• Apr 2023: Even more notebook style storage of clippings and photos and texts of all kinds, most of it private.
· Oct 2023: Introducing the fine art sensual aspect. Many lovely sensual moments have been captured on camera by the most talented photographers. FINE ART. That's important to be pointed out. Regarding the body and all its parts and their functions as a GIFT by mother nature. THERE'S SO MUCH TO EXPLORE. Also I've come to deeply enjoy sensual phantasies in my comments to the often extremely good work of some photographers whose activity concentrates on that genre. Wherein there lies endless pleasure. Relaxing. Enjoying. The miracle of PHANTASY, of photography. Of life.
Some areas of or mind/brain still seem to be deeply attached to behaviours that must have originated in the early stages of living, and the fightings to stay alive. Today, regarding our highly developed civilization, with the ancient mindset still dormant in our brain's vaults, ROLE PLAYING is a means to deal with this almost contradictionary trait in a modern civilized human. Photography being one way to set up imaginary scenes where we can let our ancient feelings out. Like using a punching bag to vent our forceful energies - WITHOUT HARMING SOMEBODY anymore. Along this point of view, quite some excellent work is to be found in the archives of flickr.
· Jan 2024: we´ve changed the cover photo after 10 years...
· Feb 2024: finished as off the "fine art" spell/stint. Back to "normal" life. Brushed off the respective albums.
• Mar 2024: to & fro, to & fro - same procedure as usual. For a while at least. Why not... (as long as it's Fine Art).
· Jan 2025: to & fro: to again, b/o the rejuvenating effect
. Mar 2025:about faves and bookmarking: we “fave” rather as a way of “bookmarking”, to find back an account easier at some later time. We tend to delete faves marks after a while. Of course, the REAL faves will stay with us on our journal, forever…
· Apr 2025 more emphasis on AI-enhanced beauty: no more single sprouting hair, no unpleasant stuff, simply the beauty of biology as it should REALLY be and: APPRECIATED! (Mostly in the private vault area)

I have only recently become acquainted with Helmut, aka Mister Beep. His pictures, and his personal narrative, speak of a romantic soul, a person with a big heart and an ambition to grow spiritually. I can sense that Helmut is trying to learn from the past and make a better life for himself. Indeed, life is so short, just a brief moment and then it's all gone. Helmut celebrates the everyday, pondering about its meaning. What can anyone ask for more? Best wishes to you, Mister Beep. Good luck.
