My story is rather typical of so many who grew up in the late 1960's, 70's and 80's who were trying to get an understanding of why we felt so different than others regarding gender roles. There was very little information available for self-education back then, so most of us simply did our best to hide a huge portion of who we are and perhaps just hope it would go away. It tended to be a very lonely existence.

By the late 1980's several support and friendship groups had begun around the US and UK as well as publications such as Ladylike magazine that helped tremendously as people were able to communicate a bit with like-minded souls. For myself it was not until the early 1990's that I finally began to explore a bit and developed a network of snail-mail friends, exchanging photos and experiences. These were the only options for reaching out and networking in the pre-internet days.

By the late 90's I felt I had finally started to develop my own sense of style and fashion, instead of just mimicking genetic women. There was still a long way to go, but that is when I really got the sense that this a journey and I really began embracing this aspect of my life for the first time.

In 2001 I finally got up the nerve to join a support group. Kansas City Crossdressers and Friends had been in existence since the late 1980's, and there I met a number of really wonderful like-minded souls.

Actual real-life outings were next, something I never thought was possible a few years earlier. First drag bars and group meetings at a local restaurant , then as confidence grew, it was time to step out into the "real world". In early 2003 I attended a concert of the KC Symphony with a TG friend and the genie was out of the bottle.

By this time it was possible to share photos and make connections socially on the internet and things really took off. I've been so fortunate to have met so many great people over the ensuing years and have tried my best to pay it forward as a supportive friend to honor those who helped me so much.

The last nineteen years or so since taking that first step out have been a whirlwind, lots of highs and lows, but I'm still here kicking up my heels so to speak. In January 2018 I suffered congestive heart failure and it's been a long road to recovery. It's put my gender journey into perspective to be sure.

I enjoy making contacts with those who have interesting (non-porn) images to share. If you are one of those with no profile information, the “blockhead” icon, or have a favorites page that is your personal porn collection, and attempt to add me as a contact or add my photos to your favorites, I will block you. Nothing personal, I’ve just had enough of that silliness.

Hi Miss Kellie. What fun and a pleasure it is to enjoy all of your wonderful photos. You photograph exquisitely. Photographing you is what photography is all about. You have perfected a very beautiful and polished look that the camera lens just adores. Also, your makeup skills are very good. It is clear you have worked hard to perfect your femininity. If you were close to me I'd love to do as many quality photos as you would allow me to take with you.Kellie, you are a true beauty, and have perfected all of the qualities a gurl is all about. You are truly beautiful in every way, both inside an out. I wish you were close to me. I would love to nurture some wonderful experiences with you. Hugs and Kisses

I continue to enjoy all your pix, posted here. I just took a moment to re-read your profile (as I did when I requested to follow you, quite a while back). You're story is essentially the same as mine (except I'm a bit older, so my first time out in 'real world' was in 1993). Your write up resonated so much that it caused me to pause a bit. Because of that long time of hiding this part of me from others (which still continues) and more-so repressing the feelings within myself, I tend to forget the history, the path behind me that I've navigated quite alone. Thank you for putting it out there, along with your lovely photo's!
