Tamashii is the purest and most raw expression from deep within the soul or spirit, having no mental or physical past or future thought or preparation behind it. It is an open and honest expression of the ‘here and now’.

  

“Tamashii” means “Soul” or “Spirit” and is used in many subtle ways in Japanese poetry and song. The deeper meaning behind Tamashii has far greater significance for the Japanese and means the purest and most expressive part of the Soul.

  

"Miru" means, "see" in Japanese. I use the combination of Miru & Tamashii

to represent really SEEING a person ~ like in the movie Avatar, "I see you". Miru Tamashii is my way of saying, I see you...

  

In my photos, I try to capture the very essence of the human soul. Not just a snap-shot, but the true beauty of a person, place or thing. Photography has always held a deeper meaning to me, personally, more of an art really. I want people to feel something when they look at my photos not just a "plain Jane" picture, but a picture that tells a story, a picture that moves people, a picture that enhances that moment in time.
