"A man of tomorrow is forged by his battle today" - My Motto -

About me

My journey into the world of photography began in 2005, fueled by a continuous admiration for the work of others. I found myself consistently inspired by their unique perspectives and compositions, even though I must confess to a lack of innate creativity that initially held me back from fully immersing myself in this art form. For several years, I contentedly observed and appreciated the masterpieces crafted by fellow photographers. It was during this time that some friends enlightened me about the capabilities of DSLR technologies in producing high-quality photos, contingent upon the choice of equipment and accompanying software for enhancement. Encouraged by this revelation, I embarked on the exploration of my first prosumer camera.

It's worth noting that this journey began in 2005, a period when smartphone cameras were not yet part of the photography landscape. As for the choice between Nikon and Canon, it was influenced by the preferences of the people around me. Surrounded by a community that favored Nikon, I acquired my first DSLR in the first quarter of 2008.

The notion of incorporating a second DSLR into my photographic journey emerged during our inaugural trip to Melbourne in 2012, marking our third-anniversary vacation. Managing with only one camera body and frequently swapping lenses proved to be a time-consuming challenge. To address this issue, I opted to borrow an additional Nikon DSLR from my sister-in-law. Recognizing the harsh reality that missing a moment meant losing it forever, I understood the importance of having two bodies to expedite lens changes.

Equipped with two DSLRs and their corresponding lenses, the outcome was a significantly enhanced experience, particularly during our travel expeditions. Witnessing the positive impact firsthand, I affirmed to myself that a second DSLR would be indispensable for future photoshoots. Two years later, I introduced a full-frame DSLR into my photographic arsenal. Since then, these two DSLRs have played a pivotal role in creating enduring memories during our various journeys.

As the era of mirrorless cameras gained prominence in the realm of photography, Sony stood out as my initial preference, whether in the realm of APS-C or Fullframe cameras. I dedicated ample time to thoroughly researching the distinctions between them before ultimately opting for the Sony α7C. Originally, I envisioned it as an ideal camera for cycling, yet, as of now, I have not mastered the art of simultaneously shooting and cycling. (I hope to find the time to practice this skill in the future.)

Another significant factor influencing my choice was the weight of conventional DSLRs, particularly evident after my Swiss trip. It became apparent that my physical stamina had changed, with the last instance of lugging around approximately 10kg or more backpacks occurring during the 2019 Jeju x Seoul trip, which involved hiking to the peak and more. Clearly, fatigue set in easily, especially when dealing with the weight of DSLR cameras and tripods. With the transition to a mirrorless camera, I aim to further explore its capabilities before embarking on a trip later this year. My hope is to acquire new skills with the camera and begin creating lasting memories in the near future.

Min Yoon, beside from being my colleague. He is also a good friend & Great Buddy! We have been buddies on our "Photo Taking Journey", from getting our first DSLR-Like camera and eventually advancing to DSLR camera. In fact, we have the exact gear spec now: Nikon D80 + Nikon 18-200 VR His pictures are always an inspiration though our style vary. I tend towards Extreme HDR while he is of a more Neutral Tone guy. This style is mirrored in his personalities as well, he is cool, calm and always composed. Looking forward to being Best Friend and Photo Taking Buddy for a long time to come! Cheers! And be Happy Always!
