My House Arabianranta is a Helsinki World Design Capital year event introducing every day a local building and its journey from a paper draft and artistic idea into the everyday life of the inhabitants.

The aim of the event is to increase awareness on how apartments are built, what sort of factors affect the local architecture and how for example the 2 % art principle has been realized in the construction. Arabianranta is a Finnish forerunner in the realization of the art precent principle in residential building. The neighbourhood is also well known about the encourages use of the shared space and the abundant communal activities among the inhabitants.

The event takes place in autumn 2012 at Helsinki Design Week (11.-16.9.). My House Arabianranta is open for all and free. Some sights have limitations in the amount of participants. The main organizer of the event is the local neighbourhood association.
