I like listening to music, taking pictures, time spent with people I care about, and moderately spicy bean chili. I'm not fond of small talk, consumerism, or politics. I am irrationally afraid of bees, but I also really like them.

A lot of my captions mention ocbc, or "the co-op". The Ohio City Bicycle Co-op is a bicycle education center near downtown Cleveland where I work. We help people use bicycles.

Isn't it weird how there are spots down there for favorite books and movies and stuff, but not photographers? Here are a few things that have stunned me lately:

* Lee Friedlander's picture of Madison Square and the Flatiron from 1983 (the one with the "don't walk"). Couldn't find it online, but it's on page 163 of the book "Flatiron".

* Markus Neis's Folgelandschaften series. (linked to the blog because it actually has an english description)

* The first picture of Mark Brautigam's On Wisconsin series. The rest is nice, too.

* Jack Delano's OWI/FSA work.

* Alec Soth's blog. Seriously, it's a work of art. (now unfortunately discontinued)

* This guy.

* Chuck Kimmerle's monochrome prairie fantasies.

* The way the light catches the door on Ansel Adams' Penitente Morada (if he has more than one, it's a horizontal image with the building going across the middle). Just killed me - I spent like 15 minutes staring at it. Also, every picture of his that includes dogwoods.

* Cerys Connor's flickr stream. Wow. (now unfortunately removed)

* ...

Peter Garver is a wonderful photographer who loves B & W photography and still shoots film as well as digital. He has some great photos and I love his Cleveland ones of the Cuyahoga River and downtown Cleveland!
