Hi! Thanks for looking at my profile, since this is where I am posting all of my design/art works, I should probably tell you where/how my ideas are generated. Like many artists, I draw a lot of ideas from my natural surroundings, the complexities and intricacies of nature are astounding and humbling, providing a lot of fodder for the creative mind. Recently my work echoes an interest in fly fishing, which is, like drawing, a very complex undertaking when trying to grasp the fundamentals but incredibly rewarding. Watching a beautifully cast line is something I could do for hours, trying to cast a line beautifully is something I have tried for hours, and is still a work in progress. Much like my art.
Most of my drawings begin as pencil sketches, progress to inking using calligraphy nibs and dip ink, then to the computer for color work and clean up. I prefer clean, contoured, expressive lines and solid color washes, using crosshatching or like techniques for shading. But am constantly experimenting with new ways of creating, believing there is always hope in honest error.
Thanks for reading and please leave comments!
