I focus on details because sometimes the big picture is too chaotic. I like abandoned places and cemeteries because they are quiet. Do not ever take me away from the ocean.

I take my cameras. Plural. With me wherever I go. Except when I go running, because I would stop constantly to take pictures, and that would be counterproductive.

My cameras (I'm starting to think I have too many, as I can't let go of any) are:

Canon 5D Mark III

Canon 70D

Panasonic Lumix FH24 (my teeny P&S)

Canon S3IS digital (don't use this one anymore but the Boy does so I keep it around)

Polaroid Pronto. This was my father's. This is the camera that took photos of me when I was first born. The photos I take with it now send me back in time.

And the two I don't use: A Kodak instant camera (they haven't made the film for it since I was born) and a Keystone Wizard (an SX-70 clone; it doesn't work but makes for lovely decor).

I am slowly scanning the flim stuff.

I collect surfboards. And bikes. And cameras. Mostly I like things from before I was even born, or when I was a baby. I think I was born too late.
