I'm an amateur photographer always with a diary camera at hand. I usually do a little editing and cropping before posting but as little as possible. Sometimes though I do try out some unusual effects just for fun using Photoshop or Lightroom.
The message in the photo is usually for description of a place or event in my life. Sometimes, my more intimate thoughts come through image.
Newest camera has arrived (6/2017) from B&H! I still have the Rebel but am downsizing camera 2 (no longer have the Powershot) to a Panasonic Lumix FZ80 with 20-1200 mm 60x optical zoom. Photos to come soon ;)
As of January 2012 I have a Canon EOS Rebel T3i with an 18-135 mm lens with a polarizing filter, a 70-300 mm and 28 mm lens from B&H. I took a class shortly after receiving the camera: Insights into Photography. The instructor is devotee and friend of Bryan Peterson. As of Apr 2017, I've been using iPhone 7 for the most spontaneous shots. I also use a small Canon Powershot A2600, a step up from the last cameras: a Nikon CoolPix 840 (which I didn't care for), a smaller Panasonic Lumix, Canon PowerShot SX110, Sony Cybershot DSC-T20 w/ Super Steady Shot and Sony Cyber-Shot U.
In any case, my cameras fit in the palm of my hand and are very light weight. As for composition and lighting, my eye is getting better but my work is still in the snapshot category and done for my own satisfaction. I did get a good tripod and Manfrotta case for carrying camera and accessories.
