Let me introduce myself, I am MDK not grumpy but jovial, smart-ass, talkative, and dull person who has turned all of it off to morn for Christine, my chum of 45 years. I didn’t need to do it, just did.

A nagging little sickness here, a small problem there, and then another is the way life goes. Don’t get me wrong, it is no big deal, just something I constantly try to compare to other illnesses and what Christine did. I am way ahead of the game.

Friends of mime for many years are becoming ill and dying as life goes on (The boating accident and auto wreck are exceptions to this.) If I don’t hear from you for a bit I just assume something is wrong. I am just living my days with nothing to say yet; Not much is coming out. in the writing; I am trying to break out of this attitude I possess and have for 4 or 5 months. I just don’t feel like doing anything.

The grandkids in Chicago and in Tacoma have been great and I’ve gone to Chicago twice this summer. Both time with the kids in tow we visited things. The St. Louis Zoo is still the best in the world, over the Lincoln park and Brookfield. Lincoln park and st. Louis are 2 of not many more that are free. Marlin Perkins got his start in st. Louis. During his time at the Lincoln Park Zoo, Perkins joined Sir Edmund Hillary as the zoologist for Hillary's 1960 Himalayan expedition to search for the legendary Yeti

Following the revelation that The Walt Disney Company had fabricated footage of a mass suicide of lemmings in its film White Wilderness,[*] CBC journalist Bob McKeown challenged Perkins in an interview as to whether he had ever done something of that sort. Perkins, then in his seventies, "firmly asked for the camera to be turned off, then punched a shocked McKeown in the face."

Milton's photography covers a spectrum. Some images are lighthearted, some are heavy on content, other -- on emotion. As someone who likes to 'collect' photos with a time and place feel to them, I especially appreciate his scans of his travel and vintage photos. And, for full measure, he will throw in a photo of his own artworks every once in a while. Then there is his writing, when he wants to give you feedback or keep a conversation going in a critique group. It's never boring, one almost has to develop an ear for what Milton has to say -- and it's worth it.
