ABOUT ME

I'm originally from Bradford in West Yorkshire, but moved to Lincoln in Lincolnshire in the mid 90's and never really left.

I became interested in photography at a young age and stepped up from using point and shoot cameras to a Pentax 35mm SLR in the late 1980's. While still at school I even managing to squeeze in GCSE Photography during my A Levels. I then continued to use photography as part of my College and Degree courses in Graphic Design.

After leaving Uni though I stepped back down to using decent compacts and that continued for around ten years. I got my first digital camera in 2004 and then got heavily into photography again in 2006, when I began to do Urban Exploration. This quickly led me into DSLR photography and the creative freedom it provides. I used a Nikon D80 for nearly five years, but that finally went into retirement in 2012 when I bought a Nikon D800. In 2013 I also bought a Nikon 1 V1 CSC camera, for those times when I want to travel light. More recently I've replaced the V1 with a Sony a6000 and moved into the world of 360° photography with a Ricoh Theta.

I spent many years primarily shooting urbex, light painting and landscape images, but have to got into much more varied work recently. I like to experiment with art lenses and varied photography techniques whenever possible. I've run and administrated a number of very successful online photo groups and projects since 2008 too.

You'll find a wide range of content on my Flickr. The first page of Sets/Albums are all compilations of my work and they are then followed by everything else in order back to when I joined Flickr in January 2011. Everything before that is chronologically random back to 2006. Specific Sets will have dates on, but some are full of images from multiple visits to places. I hope you enjoy my photography.
