Miki, como Jack Hawksmoor de The Authority, es el dios de las ciudades. Con su cámara nos muestra lo que se ve, lo que se intuye y lo que se esconde en cada uno de los lugares en los que fija su mirada. Quizás es debido a su profesión, o a su perspicacia, o quizás es por algo completamente diferente que se nos escapa, pero Miki tiene esa rara cualidad de diseccionar una urbe y mostrarnos sus entrañas, en frío y sin distracciones. Se dice que cuando llegas a una ciudad, o tardas tres días en comprenderla, o tardas tres años; las fotos de Miki nos muestran claramente que se haya en el primer grupo.

They say you're almost an architect... the other "almost" you got it in Photography. Miki's got that great eye to see things from a different point of view or just to see them from the point of view that really matters, looking at his city, his favourite places or just any place... he sees those things that not everybody is able to see, and he shows them to you in a way that you really feel them, you'd like to come back to that place and look at it differently or just go there and feel what Miki makes you feel through the picture. He's got this "thing" of being in the very moment when something important happens, something we can't see, something that is in one's mind; he distinguishes the moment and immortalize it. he gives life, movement, feelings, sounds, music, thoughts... to a simple image. Gracias Miki por las fotos que haces, por hacerme descubrir con ellas y por hacerme sentir cosas que nunca había encontrado en fotos. Sigue así!! ;D

Miguel certainly has a personal way of photographing, gently recording the daily life around him, where ever it might occur, on an evening with his friends or just the everyday events in the street. Often those photos resemble memories one who would have been there at that particular moment, would see passing his inner view, while thinking back. That I would call “photography at its best”, since it simply shows the world the way it really is, undisturbed by the camera and yet… carefully recorded. Probably we would expect a future architect to pay attention to the existing buildings as examples. But Miguel’s photos prove a much broader view… he would not only think of how the proverbial bricks should be combined into a building, but has vision and asks himself how people would behave in the building, what they’ll need, how the building would fit in the city, without forgetting the slightest details. Miguel manages to keep the overview of the city in its totality: people doing their everyday job, in the scene of parks, streets, renovation works, by day and night, alone or in a crowd… His photostream is a nice summary of a city or rather - the cities he has been to. I would say: a gentle analysis of our urban society… with a special attention to the role of space and light. - Keep experimenting with your “series” and “series in one”, Miguel, and thanks for your witty comments on my photos, from which I could learn so much and hope to continue doing that.
