I'm an art teacher at the Pennsylvania State Univeristy. I'm also a professional portrait artist through my online studio MikeTheuer.com.

I've shown my work in pencil, watercolor and oil paint at various local shows. All this when I am not making dinner or a hamster cage. While my wife works as middle-school counselor, I'm a stay-at-home dad for my three boys!

My Bachelors and Masters degrees are in English and Psychology, not art. As far as art education, Highschool is where I received by best training from a great teacher. There I learned how to use different mediums and aim my ability for details at capturing nature. Nowadays I try to capture faces. And it's not always easy. Each portrait turns out to be an education ... and a pleasure.
