A lot of my friends tease me that I am always carrying a camera and taking picture of everything. I guess it's the Filipino blood in me. I think all Filipinos like their picture taken.

I bought my first film SLR in 1999 a Minolta. Then I got into digital world... I've used several models of the Sony cybershots; S75, P8, V1, V3, H1. Then in Aug '05, I finally got my Canon Rebel XT.

It is Aug 2008 and now I have a Canon 40D. But prior to this I had a Canon 30D and prior to that a Canon 20D. And I have acquired a few L lenses along the way. Also studio stuff.

This is definitely a hard habit ... I mean hobby... to break.

Mike has a way of capturing the essential elements of any scene with his lens that pulls you into his world. He also has a way of capturing human expression at just the right moment. His portraits read like novels, and his landscapes surround you. He truly tells a story with every shot. Other photographers may specialize in showing detail, contrast, color, or depth... Mike goes beyond all that and manages to capture humor, love, awe and peace. I truly feel like I am seeing things through Mike's eyes when I look at his photos, and that to me is what phtography is all about. It's not the mastery of the technology, its the sharing of humanity, and Mike captures it wonderfully.
