For 30 years, as a "photo walker" in Berks County, PA (See my blog about it). For about 14 of those years, I typically had my 12-lb dachshund, Max, with me. It was a symbiotic relationship. He frequently stopped to smell every blade of grass in his perimeter allowing me time to slow down and locate subjects.

Recent residences: Northeast FL, Southeast FL and Southern New Jersey.

In 2008, I published a book on French Creek State Park in Southern Berks County, PA.

My roster of digital cameras over the years: Canon R6II, and Canon R7, Canon 7DII, Canon 70D, Canon Rebel T3i (my first DSLR). Ultra-zooms: Canon SX30 IS, Canon SX20 IS, Panasonic Lumix FZ-28, Kodak Z812, Kodak Z612, Kodak Z740.

I found a lot of enjoyment with the ultra-zoom camera types for they offer good value, quality and are feature packed with a versatile zoom. Another draw is that they can easily be operated with one hand which is perfect considering Max is usually tugging on a leash with the opposite hand.
