Drag to set position!
Hello and welcome to my wonderful Flickr site! I have been a lifelong Routemaster bus enthusiast and a railway enthusiast since the age of 6 and a fronky fetish lover since the age of 12. Nothing much else to be said really apart from the fact that I enjoy my hobby of photography; more so since I went over from film photography to digital photography in 2013 and the rest as they say, is history. I have always held on to the philosophy that every picture tells a story and although that is very true, I also like to back my pictures up with titles plus some information about the subject matter to make those pictures convey the story all the way through and to make them just that little bit more interesting for people to look at and learn from.
I first started taking photographs in the late 1980s by borrowing my dad's old Disc camera (remember them?) but it was not until the spring of 1992 when I started taking photos of Britain's buses and railways with my first 110 Instamatic camera which was pretty basic but as an easily-pleased teenager in the early 1990s my 110 camera did pretty much what I needed it to do. In September 1993 I upgraded to a Kodak 126 Instamatic camera which took much better quality photographs and from January 1994 I started using a basic Minolta 35mm compact film camera to record my growing interest in buses and railways. From February 1996 I upgraded to a battery-operated Canon Snappy EL 35mm compact film camera and this camera travelled around with me through the years taking lots of photos until I finally decided (somewhat reluctantly I hasten to add) to bite the bullet and go over from film photography to digital photography in 2013.
And I was not disappointed. From September 2013 I purchased a Nikon Coolpix L27 digital camera and this has been my camera in recent years, with this camera travelling everywhere with me and with it taking some excellent quality digital photos; not bad for a basic digital camera but it does everything I need it to as well as take photos in Black & White or Sepia, which gives some of my photos a nice 'vintage' look to them. In May 2018 I upgraded to a Nikon A10 digital camera which has more functions to it compared to the previous L27 camera whilst still taking sharp and clear photos of my subjects. Here's to more trouble-free digital photography in the future; the mission continues and it's thanks to you for enjoying my work. By all means feel free to add any of the photos I have taken over the years to your 'Favourites' folder on Flickr but please do not steal my photos or copy them without my express permission as these photos are all copyrighted to me.
I would also like to dedicate my Flickr site to a gentleman and a fellow bus and railway enthusiast named Stan Keen, who always took a keen interest in looking at all my bus and train photos when I became friends with him from 1997 up until his untimely passing in 2012. I hope you enjoy looking through my photo albums of all my various hobbies and interests as well as my photos of various towns, cities and other places around the United Kingdom I have visited throughout the years.
