"I really believe there are things nobody would see if I didn't photograph them." - Diane Arbus
It's always troubled me that 95% of the world is blissfully unaware of 95% of the world. I take notes & snaps of my day-to-day work of running various pieces of the Internet and other infrastructure, and when 'common folk' end up seeing the working pieces of the things that make background of reality - they're always intrigued. It's like I gave them a window into what's at the other end of their keyboard.
This is why I'm fascinated with ruins, abandoned factories, industrial settings, curious urban landscapes. I want people to see that just around the corner, is a small, but critical cog in the gears of the world... and that not only are your opportunities to see it fleeting, but in this day and age of consolidation, cost-cutting and globalization - they won't be there for long.
I document the world today, as it was yesterday, as tomorrow, it won't be.
Where have been shooting recently?
I welcome your feedback & would love to continue a dialogue that my photography has started...
“If I lose the light of the sun, I will write by candlelight, moonlight, no light. If I lose paper and ink, I will write in blood on forgotten walls. I will write always. I will capture nights all over the world and bring them to you.” - Henry Rollins
