Geek, busy dad.

I started taking photography seriously at 14, when my father became a freelance professional photographer. I had plenty of free training :-)

Unfortunately, Tenerife in the 90's wasn't a good place to shoot mainly medium- and large-format film, so the business wasn't successful for very long.

However, I discovered photography is the only art that I'm any good at, so I never quit.

If you are curious about my equipment, check my photos EXIF (example).

I find the evolution more interesting than the current state:

1994 - $10 compact 35mm film camera and lots of B&W film, including a whole can of expired Technical Pan that was lots of fun, all developed at home by myself.

1996 - Chinon MA-8 with 28-70mm f/3.5 and 135mm f/2.8 (not in use)

1997 - Olympus OM-1 with Zuiko 24mm f/2.8, Zuiko 35mm f/2.8, Zuiko Micro 50mm f/3.5 (macro 1:1) and Zuiko 100mm f/2.8 (currently under gentle use only as secondary film body)

1998 - Nikon FM-2n with AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.4D (main film body)

2002 - Nikon Coolpix 2200 (given away)

2000 - AF Nikkor 35-105mm f/3.5-4.5D (seldom used, only good for weddings)

2004 - Nikon Coolpix 8400 (sold)

2005 - AF Nikkor 28mm f/2.8 (€70 bargain, because I couldn't afford the 24mm f/2.8D then)

2005 - Hanimex 135mm f/2.8 (€18 bargain)

2007 - Nikon F90x (automatic film body, seldom used)

2007 - Olympus µ725SW (miguev-proof)

2008 - AF Nikkor 85mm f/1.8 (€200 bargain, favorite portrait lens)

2008 - Nikon D80 (first DSLR, soon sold to upgrade)

2008 - Tokina AT-X Pro 12-24mm f/4 (favorite and main travel lens, easy decision)

2008 - AF Nikkor 70-300mm f/4-5.6G (Xmas present, instead of the old model)

2009 - Nikon D90 (only DSLR)

2009 - Sigma 17-70mm f/2.8-4.5 (bought just for one wedding)

2009 - AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D (too good and cheap not to have)

2010 - Nikkor 200mm f/4 AI-s (bargain deal on eBay)

2010 - AF Nikkor 60mm f/2.8D (real macro lens, wanted this since 1998)

2010 - AF Nikkor 24mm f/2.8D (real good, favorite wide-angle lens, wanted this since 1998)

2010 - Nikon D700 (at last, a full-frame DSLR)

I have four SLR film cameras (one retired, another one nearly retired), one DSLR and one compact digital camera: the good old Olympus OM-1 (which I don't use any more), the really good although not as old Nikon FM-2n, the Nikon F90X I stole from my father, a brand new Nikon D80 from June'08 Nikon D90 from January 2009. I no longer have the not-so-new but yet quite good Nikon Coolpix 8400 (sold it) and have given up the little but good enough Nikon Coolpix 2200 to my friend Alberto. I also got the really tough, miguev-proof Olympus µ725SW from my father (Xmas 2007) after seeing this ad.
