A short and simple version of my life

43 years of Motorsport experience! Born in Havana Cuba, raised in New York (yes the city) and in New Hampshire began serving a four year apprenticeship at 14 with Claude Meder at Eurocar of Miami and Ferrari of North America in Connecticut. At 16 thanks to Msr. Meder’s close relationship with Renault I began driving R8 Gordini’s under a Nome de Guerre driving International Rallies. I raced under my assumed identity in North America until I was drafted in 1971. After the Army, I opened up a shop in New Hampshire but the allure of New York City brought me there where we (my darling wife Karen) had several automotive ventures. In 1982 with a growing family of 5 and the encroachment of the City on our Long Island home, we moved to Berkeley California.

In Berkeley partnered with another New Yorker and began Claremont Continental the success of this venture allowed me indulge in building award winning show cars and return to racing as an amateur for the first time. 1994 the opportunity to join Jerry Kunzman and Ali Ashram presented a turning point in the history of motorsports with the formation of NASA. The National Auto Sport Association has changed the sport and created an easy pathway to fulfill the desire of many to get on the track.

Living now in Cumming Georgia and operating a small restoration shop, I keep busy working for NASA South East thanks to Jim and Julie Pantas for adopting me. I do private coaching contribute to magazines and have entered a new chapter of my photography as a fine artist photohrapher.
