I love simple things. Seasons, fresh food, good music, photography, cinema and our home.
From childhood, I have learned to savour the unique character of food; to appreciate the farmer's work and the knowledge of the environment passed from generation to generation. I grew up in a family that had terroir food on the table every day, in France. We had our own garden, and what we did not grow ourselves came from local farms. Providing ourselves with food in this way was natural and unconscious.
Studying history and geography showed me the patterns in agricultural development and I was able to understand the impact of globalisation on food production and consumption. My passionate search for sustainable living for each person and the sustainable development of each state led me into the area of International Relations.
I am currently a PhD student whose research focuses on traditional Portuguese foods (land races) and their biological and cultural heritages, living in Portugal.
I use a Nikon D3200 to photograph.
