Hello flickrers,

I've been interested in photography since I was a young kid back when we didn't have a camera in our pockets at all times. I have boxes and boxes of photos from many kinds of cameras. M maybe some day I'll look through and scan them all.

I started participating in a weekly Flickr photo group in January 2010. I took 2021 off so that makes 2025 the start of year 15. The weekly themes kept me motivated to get out a camera, take some pics, and try new techniques and processing.

In recent years I was primarily using my iPhone to take pics but was also using my old Canon T2i DSLR with a few different lenses and filters. I came to the conclusion that no matter what I tried the T2i was just not going to produce good looking pics and it wasn't just user error! In November 2023 I purchased a Panasonic LUMIX G95D Micro Four Thirds Mirrorless camera (that's a long name) with a 12-60mm lens and will be learning all the new fangled settings. I also use Pixelmator Pro for most post processing.

BTW I used to post to Instagram/Threads now and again but gave that up at the beginning of 2025. I'm now on Bluesky / Flashes under @ericneardetroit.
