Painting, for me, is transferring the energy of the outside world into something visual. Each piece I create is a projection of the essence of my inner world. Everything I see and experience in my daily life gets filtered through me and becomes a visual expression of myself as a conscious being.

My goal for every painting is to create the feeling of a whole. I try to balance different relationships of opposites: unity and dissonance, emphasis and generality, authority and submission, intent and spontaneity, etc.

It is difficult for me to explain why I paint and what I paint. All I know is that there is something in me that is compelled to layer pigments on canvas or paper until I have made something that feels complete. Art has it’s own language, and the way I understand it is through feelings and intuition, not thoughts and words.
