My name is Michael and I live in Palm Springs Ca, USA. My flickr site includes snapshots and what I consider "art." My art forms are painting, drawings and photography, and I am currently focusing more on painting and drawing. I am influenced by environments where I have travelled and to which I live. I love flickr, reminds of being a kid and having pen pals.

My site also contains "favorites" of other Flickr artists that have inspired me.

Artist Statement

I create paintings and digital drawings influenced by mid-century modern design, abstraction, and the California desert landscape. My work moves between abstraction and representation, reducing cities, mountains, trees, and interiors into simplified blocks of color, line, and light.

I was introduced to art early in life through my artistic mother, but later chose a professional path in medicine while continuing to study and make art throughout the years. While working in healthcare, I completed additional art coursework and exhibited work in the Los Angeles area.

After focusing primarily on my career as a hand therapist, I am returning to the visual arts with renewed focus as part of the next chapter of my life.
