Born in Juneau Alaska yet live in Erie Pennsylvania. Married my beautiful wife Sarah on July the 10th of 2004 (Married in Niagara Falls Canada).
Our young one Ella Rae was born October 11th 2006. She has been a blessing to us all and we are thankful every day to be blessed with her in our lives.
I've been into Photography for as long as I can remember... Always taking pictures with my Olympus 0M2n, Canon Elan 2e and a Canon Powershot A610 but more recently acquired the Canon XTi (aka 400D aka "The Kiss"). This is just to tide me over until I get my hands on the Canon 5D and/or 1D Mark III. I'm here to take pictures for all to enjoy as well as learn from everyone here.
Like my brother always says... If you "Get The Picture", it’s worth a thousand words.

Cute and clever at the same time, what an amazing guy! Not only is he a great photographer with a lot of creative ideas, but also a wonderful friend. I’m considering a move to Alaska. I want to start a search for my own Michael Shakes.
Many people are unaware that Shakesy invented the gyroscope. I have traveled extensively with him, and without fail every time we are in Lisbon he starts a fight with the transvestites who sell paper roses in the cafes. We always win due to his quickness with a butter knife. Someday I will have his babies.
Michael Shakes is the most shak'nest man around. If it wasnt for the thousands of miles between us and the restraining order his wife issued I would be totally luv'n all over him.
Secretly, he loves the Vikings!
Mike is doing some excellent photography, experimental and creative with a terrific sense of humor. Unabashedly, he gives a joy for life through a camera.
When I die I'm going to leave Michael my Canon D70s. He's the only photographer I could trust to do it justice. What a guy!
Mike is one of the more talented people you will ever have the privilege of meeting. Not only can he ride a bike backwards but he also takes some pretty damn good pictures. Now only if he would post a few of them...
