Long time birder from Vancouver, BC. Started birding when I was 8 with my grandpa in his back yard. The old Birds of North America published by Golden Book was my first feild guide and a small pair of Buschnell binoculars were my gifts for birthday and Christmas. I stayed in the biology field right into college and university in Santa Barbara where I met a prof that taught me about life lists. My first bird listed was a Brown Pelican along with a Long-billed Curlew. From there I moved to Vancovuer and became a true blue birder making every Back Yard Bird Count and then eBird. I fired up a site called www.TheBirdBlogger.com and had the beginnings of a small tour outfit. From there I met my partner Carli and convinced her birding was the only way to spend time together. Now we have friendly competitions on year lists. After visiting a few places and looking for local guides to take us out on day tours. It was very dificult to find a good guide in some of the locations we were visiting . This is where www.10000BirdTours.com was born. The need for local guides to take experienced and newbie birders out on day trips in the local area. Come visit us and let us put you in touch with someone on your trip or in your town to get you on the birds.

Thank you so much Mike
