I'm a Buddhist Celt with quirky ties to the world of nature and dreams, which can demand my full attention from time to time. When that occurs I probably appear a tad random, a trait (I suspect) of scryers and impulsive dancers to this-and-that... not to mention those blessed with more eccentric forms of ADD. I'd rather not seem at all inexplicable, but who always has a choice in the matter?
I tell stories, and sing pretty well (and that I'll do on behalf of others, if asked). I'm told I take my bodhisattva and ngakpa vows a little too much to heart, but frankly I see that as not true at all... I wish I were much, much better at that selfless-compassion kind of action than I actually am. I think without SOME kind of structure, I'd so easily forget my chance to be steadied and nourished by others, and to likewise return those sweet favours.
Get any of that? Well... I'll attempt an explanation if you ask, but be prepared to be more confused by the explanation.
I'm basically both optimistic and inviter the best of life for everyone. Nothing is ever doomed to continue as it always is because at the end of every breath is it's own little bardo-gap and we get to start truly fresh.
I presently work as an independent historical researcher for the Irish Spiritual Heritage Association, and with Working Pilgrimages lead one or two groups of volunteers a year to Ireland to survey ancient landscapes and places of spiritual focus.
Oh, forgot. I'm Canadian... stuck (not entirely unhappily) most of the time in New England. And working on a film about Bronze-Age Ireland... to be shot in Ireland, Iceland and other spots. And photos as well. Must acknowledge previous good support from Canada Council, Vermont Arts Council and Polaroid Corporation - thank you, thank you, thank you.
