Mike Agustin is a freelance photographer who has taken a wide range of photography ranging from local and international. He got his first camera at the age of 20 and has been taking pictures ever since. From the lovely people, places and beaches of the Philippines to the fabulous models and city structures of Singapore to the rich and colorful culture of Thailand to the most visited places of Malaysia to the interesting and historic city of Vietnam to the islands and provinces of Indonesia to the great places and beautiful beaches of Australia, it has been said that Mike Agustin always capture tack sharp photographs. Why photography?

I love Photography. It’s fun, interesting and there are lots to talk about. Almost every weekend I join photo shoots. I go with my colleague Alex who is also a photographer, and sometimes with the group called Snapmates doing Fashion, Landscape and Macro Photography. Photography is my escape from my stressful job. It’s been my second world of reality, I can say. I am official member of Club Snap Community in Singapore.

What’s your favorite photography?

My favorite is Model Photography. I like Models, Style and Fashion. I always join fashion shoot event or normal outdoor fashion shoot. My first shoot was in a car show, my camera is Olympus E520. I attended an Auto Show event where models are really lovely, cute and fashionable. Since then, my interest in model photography keeps on growing.

What’s your style in model photography?

My style is simple and natural as long as I find the model beautiful that exceeds all my expectation in front of the camera. For me, simple ideas are pre-planned but often the best pictures are results of unique concept and good improvise. I can say, photo shoot venues are the most rewarding for me and for the models as well, because of beautiful backgrounds, different angles, good props and unexpected situations.

How do you create your images?

Even though my setup is very basic I can create and produce tack sharp images. Of course, I do post processing for my photos. It really helps me to enhance and emphasize what the picture is all about. Especially, in model photography the lighting, location, expression, pose and outfit are very important for me. I hope this hobby of mine will soon be a profession so that my signature will be official and be known.
