I live in Los Feliz, one of Los Angeles' GREAT neighborhoods with my wife Donna Jean. Living and working in our neighborhood is such a wonderful experience! We live at the foot of GRIFFITH PARK, a true urban wilderness, where we can take an afternoon hike, visit the Greek Theater, explore the universe at the Griffith Park. Observatory or have a Sunday picnic in Fern Glen (that's just for starters).

We are fortunate to live in a historic old Spanish Revival home, the Durex Model Home designed by Koerner and Gage, best-known for the design of the Beverly Hills City Hall. Our home was officially dedicated as one of Los Angeles' newest historic monuments (HCM No. 1025) at a ceremony on Saturday, June 8, 2013. The house was the home of Fred and Ron Beaton-- brothers who at one time owned and operated KIEV radio station before the advent of television.

Many years ago, we attended a New Year's Eve Party in Silver Lake, hosted by Dave Keitel and Shelley Marks. Our Council Member Tom LaBonge was there, and in conversation, we mentioned that we had recently moved to Los Feliz. Since Tom knows just about everything there is to know about the neighborhood, we described the house and location, and, to our amazement Tom responded, "Oh, you live in the BEATON HOUSE; I used to go swimming there when I was a kid."

Thanks to your support, my photos have been viewed more than 40.7 million times (as of July 2025).
