Amateur astronomer from youth (since 1974). With the observation of my first total solar eclipse in 1980 in Kenya I was so fascinated by this celestial event and the journey to a country foreign to me that I followed total solar eclipses for many years. So far I was standing 13 times in the deep shadow of our Moon. I have always been lucky: never clouded out.

Deepsky photography is difficult in city periphery (Graz/St. Radegund/Austria) or only possible with special narrow band filters (Bortle 6). Therefore my main interest is the bodies of our solar system, especially our active sun. Biggest optics are: 17" Newton, Celestron 14, Baader 9,25“ SC Triband and a 155mm/f8 refractor.
