aster Cesar Ozuna started his martial arts training (Moo Do Kwan) in 1969 at the Myung Institute in Asunción, Paraguay. His first instructor was Master Duk Sun Myung. Later he continued training with Instructor Fermín Sánchez.

In 1975, at the age of seventeen, he received his First Degree Black Belt. During the same year he finished his secondary studies in Paraguay and traveled to the United States of America to attend College in Stockton, California.

He received a Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Personal Administration and International Relations. Later on he received a Masters degree in International Business Administration and Economics as well as a Doctorate in Marketing and Financing.

From 1976 to 1979, Chief Master Ozuna participated in numerous monthly tournaments in California. During this time, the most important tournament was the U.S. Open held in Long Beach, where famous martial artists like Keith Vitali, Ernie Reyes Jr., Jeff Smith, Bill Wallace and others participated.

In two instances Chief Master Ozuna reached the individual final in Sparring, and he has two first place titles in team competition representing the state of California. Additionally he has around twenty first place titles in regional tournaments. He also participated in professional Kick Boxing events for about two years with a record of eleven fights won and one tie.

In 1978 he obtained the title of first place in Long Distance Board Breaking and first place in Team Board Breaking at the ITF (International Taekwondo Federation) World Championships.

Chief Master Ozuna participated in three ITF World Championships, in Canada, Argentina and the United States. He also participated in a WTF (World Taekwondo Federation) World Championships, as well as the Grand Nationals and World Championships held by ATA/STF/WTTU.

In 1976, after meeting Master Clint Robinson, he joined the ATA (American Taekwondo Association), attracted by the organization’s structure and work system. In 1978, during his testing for Third Degree, Chief Master Ozuna met Eternal Grand Master Haeng Ung Lee, Songahm and ATA’s founder.

Eternal Grand Master Lee taught Chief Master Ozuna that if one has the capacity and the will to do something, all dreams are possible, and that nothing is achieved without trying.

Towards the end of 1980, after finishing his university education, Chief Master Ozuna returned to Paraguay and started teaching Songahm Taekwondo, and in 1983, the Songahm Taekwondo Federation (STF) was officially formed with headquarters in Asunción, Paraguay.

In 1992, Chief Master Ozuna received the rank of 6th Degree Black Belt, and the following year, the title of Songahm Master. This event made him the first Master of the STF. Among the many awards and titles that Chief Master Ozuna received throughout his career are the Merit Award letter by General Choi Hong Hi, Best Instructor Award in STF/ATA (3 times), four-time Best STF/ATA, induction to the STF Hall of Fame and the Songham Hall of Fame.

In 1997, he decided to move once again to the U.S.A. to manage STF from there and establish his own schools. In 1998, he received the rank of 7th Degree Black Belt and in 1999 the title of Senior Master. In 2006, he received the rank of 8th Degree Black Belt and in 2007 the title of Chief Master of Songahm Taekwondo.

Chief Master Ozuna relieves that thanks to his martial arts training he was able to overcome the most difficult moments in his life with self-confidence, as well as physical and mental strength.

Something that makes Chief Master Ozuna proud is that in addition to being able to professionally make a living teaching martial arts, STF instructors are also excellent people, role models in their communities, and wonderful martial artists. The small seed that began to grow in Asunción is today flourishing in many countries, including the United States, where some of the most successful schools are run by instructors formed in the STF.

One of his current projects for the STF is to make each country independent with its own legal structures and a senior instructors’ council to help each country’s members, new instructors and school owners in order to develop martial arts leaders and entrepreneurs.

For Chief Master Ozuna, being a leader in one of the biggest martial arts organizations in the world and influencing positively in so many people’s lives is a blessing and an honor, in addition to the great responsibility of doing the right thing.
