An old lady I be,

In love with the sea.

I’m the one that you young’uns call “ma’am”

I love things that have fins and gills,

Or feathers, or webbed feet, or bills.

I love rainbows and bees,

And ice storms and trees,

And the sun setting over the hills.

“The Old School” was how I was taught.

Then a digital camera I bought.

It was one of the first,

And it was the worst!

“This never will make it” I thought.

But technology wins, as you know,

Now I’m feasting daily on crow.

My darkroom is lonely,

“Cuz I’m thinking only

Of how many pixels to show.

But, don’t think that you can now snicker

At me, ‘cuz you got there much quicker,

I really don’t care.
