I'm a photographer based in Hood River, Oregon, dead center in the Columbia River Gorge. I've been a photographer for more than four decades, and I've never limited myself to a single subject. My work includes landscapes, travel, rodeo (I am a Northwest Professional Rodeo Association [NPRA] photographer), portraits, events, real estate, aerial photography, and anything else that catches my attention along the way. I think that's one of the things I love most about the art form - there are so many genres to learn and learn from.
Some images are created for clients, while others come from exploring new places, documenting an experience, or finding something interesting. What connects them is my interest in people, places, and the stories that photographs tell. This Flickr collection is a visual record of that variety; part portfolio, part travel journal, and part ongoing photographic experiment while I document my growth.

I'm amazed at Mark's versatility. He seems to be as comfortable shooting the stark desolation of Eastern Oregon as he is the bright skyline of Seattle. Or, the deep power of the Oregon coast as he is the rich culture of downtown San Francisco. I especially appreciate his unique, low angles and use of multiple exposure shots, something I would like to incorporate into my own shots. More and more, when I'm out shooting, I find myself thinking, "How might Mark Frisco compose this?" As a relative newcomer to photography, I am careful to emulate those photographers on Flickr that I know consistently produce high-quality work. Mark's work goes to the top of this list. It's just a matter of time before the rest of the Flickr community finds his stuff.
